Building 3 Uxbridge Business Park, Uxbridge

Uxbridge Business Park has expanded in recent years due to its popularity, great location and access to Heathrow. This has resulted in the earlier built buildings looking dated when compared to the newer ones on the Park.

Our brief at Vernier was to transform Building 3’s existing dated atrium and WC facilities with an extensive re-design and refurbishment whilst it was still occupied.

The new atrium now offers a relaxed executive library lounge facility, a new concierge reception, drinks station, luggage store and a professional waiting area that can also be used as an additional collaboration area for the occupants on the Park. Plus, the ‘Borrow Bike’ area where occupiers on the Park can borrow a folding bike and enjoy the many routes around the area to improve health and wellbeing.

Attention to detail was key to the look and feel for the interior with consideration to the many facilities on offer, the amount of personnel passing through and the height of the space. Getting the balance right was critical to the design and ambience.

Feature items included the new timber pergolas spanning across the front of the atrium providing secluded cosy pockets to relax or meet in, bespoke high-end joinery, luxurious soft feel fabrics, greenery incorporated for the much desired biophilic element - bringing the outside in, library shelving with a moving ladder fully equipped with various book genres and home furnishings and pendant lighting.

We faced a number of challenges along the way, one of which was the introduction of Covid-19 restrictions during the project. The Vernier team managed the onsite activities extra vigilantly to ensure the recommended social distancing and additional Health & Safety requirements were practiced throughout the site. With the handover date already set, we were able to achieve completion on time and to budget due to the proactive, united team and ‘can do attitude’ approach.

Vernier have delivered a high end refurbishment to the main reception and communal areas within Building 3 Uxbridge Business Park including CAT A works to the 2nd floor office space. With help all the way through the design stage Vernier had their finger on the pulse and understood what we wanted to produce whilst ensuring we stayed within budget, without compromising the style and quality of the product. What Vernier have helped us produce has transformed the building.
