Oxford Works, Oxford Business Park

The brief was to provide a new vibrant community hub, an agile business lounge and seminar space for its customers to experience whilst being on the Park.

From an operations point of view, the space needed to work well whilst future proofing its usage for all eventualities. The space needed to flow and handle the various activities and different types of visitors; welcoming new ones to the Oxford Business Quarter, providing additional facilities to its existing occupants and being the new home for the Park Management Team.

The design concept was based on a bright modern ‘techy’ feel with exposed services, lustrous aluminium pipework cladding and new statement LED lighting. The look delivers immediate impact upon arrival, stimulating interaction amongst its visitors and other businesses which in turn creates the heart of this innovative community.

A new entrance was created with impressive cantilevered canopy overhead. On entering the open and airy business lounge a bespoke feature wall is the backdrop which incorporates the branding via colour changing LED lighting. The space can be quickly transformed from an everyday workspace to allow for events or client interactions.

Other new facilities were constructed including breakout areas, tea points, quiet booths and new bathroom and changing facilities. At the rear, a key feature is the multi-functional seminar suite space for 100 seated audience. Adjacent to this, a private luxury VIP marketing room was introduced for that special meeting which has a fantastic view out onto the new landscaping.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Vernier for over 10 years and with each project, they approach it with professionalism, creativity and importantly as a partnership. The brief for our new business lounge in Oxford was no different, asking them to deliver a completely flexible multi-functional working and social hub for our community - no mean feat. Vernier not only designed and delivered all our aspirations but exceeded our expectations by creating a collaboration hub that is a ‘stand out’ inspirational amenity in our community.

Dan Williams, Development DirectorArlington

Through creative thought, Vernier has delivered exactly what was required for us, and surpassed our expectations. Arlington places a premium on creating the right collaborative and amenity rich environments, and this project was key to get right as we refocussed our Oxford assets towards being the first point of contact for forward thinking businesses expanding out of the City Centre. The investment has paid off and we have a great design, executed to the highest quality finish on time and on budget. We recognised selecting the right contractor was critically important and Vernier have proven to be the right choice again.
